The Food Bank in Ciechanów, thanks to support from the POP Fund, is implementing a project aimed at modernizing its operations and increasing security in the face of modern challenges. The “Digital Relief Shield” is not just about new equipment, but primarily about building institutional resilience that allows for effective aid even in the most difficult conditions.

The Food Bank in Ciechanów has been supporting those in need for years. Each year, the Bank provides food aid to approximately 20,000 people in need, including refugees from Ukraine and local residents in difficult life situations.
Technology in the Service of Aid
The project “Digital Relief Shield: Food Bank in Ciechanów Builds Resilience for Times of Crisis” focuses on three key areas:
- Modernization of IT Infrastructure: The purchase of 14 modern computer sets along with the software necessary for efficient logistics and warehouse management.
- Cybersecurity: Implementing systems to protect the data of beneficiaries and partners, which is crucial in an era of increasing digital threats.
- Team Training: Raising the digital competencies of employees and volunteers so they can fully utilize the new tools.
Networking and Cooperation

A key element of the project is networking – strengthening the ties between the Bank and its partners. The project aims to create a more integrated and resilient support network. By improving digital communication and data exchange, the Food Bank and the 48 collaborating entities can coordinate their efforts more effectively, share resources, and respond faster to local needs. This “network effect” ensures that the aid system remains stable even when individual elements face challenges.
Why is it so Important?
“Building resilience is a process that requires both resources and a change in mindset. Thanks to the POP Fund, we can take a significant step forward,” emphasize the representatives of the Food Bank.

Efficient digital systems mean:
- Faster Response: more efficient distribution of food products and shorter processing times.
- Better Coordination: improved cooperation with local organizations and social welfare centers.
- Operational Continuity: the ability to manage the organization and aid flow even during crisis situations or technical disruptions.
Support from the POP Fund
The project is being implemented as part of the POP Fund (The Polish Organizations Pooled Fund), which supports initiatives aimed at building social and institutional resilience in Poland. By investing in the “Digital Relief Shield,” the Fund supports the professionalization of the Food Bank in Ciechanów, making it a stable pillar of the local support system.
The Food Bank in Ciechanów proves that technology and strong organizational networks are powerful tools in the hands of those who help others every day.
The project is funded thanks to the PKO Bank Polski Foundation and the ORLEN Foundation.
